Final Hour

Hello all, and thank you for following my critique of the the 4 Hour Body Diet by Timothy Ferris. I lasted 5 straight weeks. I lost 8 pounds and found flatness in places I haven’t seen in years. All in all I think it is a fantastic diet, with a few minor flaws. While I have been an avid seeker of all foods whole, organic and free range when possible for years, there has still been health focus gained from this diet. When I need sustained energy I know the meat, vegetable, bean combo will not fail me. It is now a habit to incorporate vegetables into every meal. And to eat protein first thing in the morning. While complex carbohydrates satisfy a certain desire, a meal made of only carbs will leave me groggy. Fruit is a gift and should be cherished as I may have once held chocolate or other man made sweets. Wine is not good for everyone and non-organic sulfite filled ones should be consumed with caution. And finally while being aware of what you put into your body and self control are good, life is too short to enjoy some of your favorite foods for a mere 14% of it (referring to the cheat day once a week).

Following this post you will find other food photos and out takes captured on the diet.

Please check back for my next eat critique, whatever that may be!

Awesome Greens

This recipe rocks! And you can use this sauce on any cooked greens like kale, bok choi, or broccoli.

Make the sauce first, combine the following: two cloves minced garlic, 1/4 sweet onion chopped, juice of one lemon, 2 tbs olive oil, 2 tbs soy sauce, and 1 tbs tahini (sesame paste) Set aside.

Then, in a pot with boiling water in the bottom, steam the bok choi (use a strainer inside to hold the greens above the water, or a traditional steamer if you have one because when you steam veggies in hot water you lose a lot of the nutrients). Steam until the greens are cooked but still have a little bite, you don’t want to over do it, but you don’t want them crunchy either.

Remove the veggies from the heat, (strain out water if you cooked them in water) and mix with sauce.

This recipe is fast, easy and packs a flavorful punch. I have to control myself from going overboard eating them when I make a big batch. Divine!

Taiwanese Bok Choy,  almost too beautiful to eat.

teageeknz asked: Hey good work on the 'diet' - it looks yum! There will be plateau weeks, so keep your chin up.
It also pays to remember Bruce Lee's little motto (heavily paraphrased): Throw it at the wall

Thank you!
